Command:

Add Motion Function-Block (FB)

What for:

1.To make available to a Motion-Part or Motion-Point a motion design that is designed in MotionDesigner.

In MotionDesigner, for each point along the X-axis of a motion, there is a motion-value on its Y-axis.

2.The motion-values at the input-connector of a Motion FB correspond to the X-axis of a motion design, and the motion-values at its output-connector correspond to the Y-axis of the motion.

How to add:

1.Click the Motion FB in the Function-Block Toolbar.
2.Click again in the graphic-area to 'place' the FB in the graphic-area.

The Motion FB is now in the graphic-area.

Link a 'Motion in MotionDesigner' to the Motion FB:

1.Double-click a Motion FB in the graphic-area

The Motion FB dialog-box opens - see image to left.

2.Click the 'Select Motion' box to select one of the motions that are in MotionDesigner.

Output Option:

3.Click one radio-button:
Reset Output: The output is set to the motion-value at the start of the motion after each machine cycle
Accumulate Output: The output adds the motion-value at the end of the motion to the motion-value at the start of the motion after each machine cycle.

Output Data Type

4.Use the radio buttons to select the units for the motion-values at the output-connector:
Motion : Default - units is 'Counts'

If the Motion FB will move a Motion-Point, see Motion-Path FB, you must use:

Linear

- or -

Rotary
5.Click 'OK'.

Notes:

Typically, the motion-values at the input-connector of a Motion FB have a range from 0 – 360. Also, typically, the motion-values at the input-connector increase at a constant rate.

However, any range of motion-values is possible at the input-connector. The motion-values at the input-connector may increase and decrease at any time in a machine cycle.
