The kinematic elements and machine elements that you can add to the model in a Mechanism-Editor are the 'bones' of the machine model. To add 'flesh' over the 'bones' you will need to add 'Solids'.
|•||Use the kinematic-elements to build the basic kinematic-chains with simple 'kinematic-pairs'|
|•||Use the machine elements to add more function parts to the model to transform motions with complex 'kinematic-pairs'.|
|•||Nearly all of the elements are projected onto the Mechanism-Plane of the Mechanism-Editor.|
Note: you can use the Add Mechanism and Add Plane commands that are in the Model-Editor in the active Mechanism-Editor, also.
The Mechanism menu is a sub-menu of the Add menu.
The commands in the Mechanism menu are defined in two toolbars: Kinematic Elements toolbar and Machine-Elements toolbar.
The toolbars are to the left-side of the Mechanism-Editor's graphic-area.
The Machine-Elements toolbar is below the Kinematic-Element toolbar.
Machine elements usually need other elements in the model that you have added with commands that are in the Kinematic elements toolbar.
