We use the Application-Settings dialog box (see Edit menu/toolbar) to change the Theme, Style, and Settings and to suit your preferences and environment.
Together, we use the term Styling for the active Theme, Style, and Settings.
We use the Save and Load buttons, in the Application-Settings dialog-box, to save and load a Styling.
When you exit MechDesigner, we automatically save the Styling to your PC - see Files on your PC.
A Theme defines the colors of the borders, menus, and dialogs, with contrasting colors for the toolbar icons.
You can select from two Themes. (More than 2 Themes from MD16.1)
To select a Theme, do:
1.Edit menu > Application-Settings > General tab > Theme Options : Target Theme
Charcoal Dark Slate : this theme has Dark borders, menus and dialogs with contrasting colors for toolbars icons.
Windows10 : this theme has Light borders, menus, and dialogs, with contrasting colors for toolbar icons.
Windows - not recommended
If you select a Theme that is different from the active Theme, you must restart MechDesigner.
Thereafter, it becomes the default Theme.
If you load a different Theme, then you will most likely want to load a different Styling.
To load a Styling, do:
1.Edit menu > Application-Settings > Click the LOAD button
Dark Style : recommended for Charcoal Dark Slate
Light Style : recommended for Windows10
To save a Styling, do
2.Edit menu > Application-Settings > Click the SAVE button
Ideally save to file-name that is NOT Dark Style or Light-Style.the default path. D
There are Installed Style files that are formatted for those regions that use a ',' (comma) as a decimal separator(Continental Europe), and those that use a '.' (stop) as the decimal separator (All other Places?)
These Style files are in paths ... C:ProgramData/style/Comma/ and ...C:/ProgramData/style/Stop/ respectively.
MechDesigner should find the correct path for your region. But, please look at the path-name to make sure it is correct before you load or save a Styling.
DO NOT overwrite an Installed Styles. Please save a Style with your Style file-name.
You may have, as I have, different color preferences, size of icons, text, symbols; and number-formats, ... that are different from the defaults given in the Dark-Style or Light-Styles.
Use the Application-Settings dialog-box to change these and other settings.
Then use the Save button to save them as new Styling.

Note: The active Theme, Style, and the Settings are collectively called a Styling.
You may want to save, load, or move your Styling to other PCs if:
•different engineers use the same PC, each with different Styling preferences
•you want to distribute the Styling to different PCs for a company-wide application environment.
•you want different Styling for when you work at night or in the day.
To save the Styling:
1.Click the Application-Settings > Save button to save the Style to a new style-name.XML.
It is best to save your Styling to C:/Documents/PSMotion/MechDesigner/
3.Use Windows File-Explorer to make a copy of style-name.XML and also MechDesigner.INI, and MechDesigner.XML - see File on your PC.
On other PC(s):
4.Use Windows File-Explorer to save the style-name.XML, and replace the existing MechDesigner.INI, and MechDesigner.XML with those from the original PC.
5.Restart MechDesigner on the other PC.
6.Click the LOAD button, to apply the style-name.XML.
They become the default Theme and Style.
