Add / Update Polyline

Why add a Polyline?

A Polyline is a sketch-element.

Use Add Polyline to:

Add a Polyline to a Gear-Pair or 2D-Cam.

Update the shape of a Polyline if you edit a Gear-Pair or 2D-Cam

You can add one Polyline to each 2D-Cam and each Gear-Pair.

You can select one Polyline to add many Profiles.

Add Polyline & Update Polyline

 

STEP 1: Put the MMA to Zero degrees

1.Press ALT+H or the Home key on your keyboard

STEP 2:Start the Add Polyline command:

2.Click Add menu > Mechanism menu  > Solids menu > Add Polyline

OR

2.Click Solids Toolbar > Add Polyline

The Command-Manager has one selection-box:

MD-GA-AddPolyline-Cam

STEP 2:To ADD a Polyline

1.Click a 2D-Cam or Gear-Pair in the graphic-area

STEP 2:To UPDATE a Polyline

1.Click a 2D-Cam or Gear-Pair with has a Polyline that is not the correct copy of the 2D-Cam or Gear-Pair.

STEP 3: End the command

1.Click OK-tiny-13-17 in the Command-Manager

If necessary:

2.Click Rebuild Now to make sure the Polyline is correct.

The Polyline is now a sketch-element in the Part that is equal to the shape or size of the 2D-Cam or Gear-Pair.
